HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 23, 2014) – The Georgia Dome, in Atlanta, Ga. held round eight of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in front of 69,785 fans. Fox Sports Two broadcast the event live. Josh Grant returned from injury, and thanks to St. Lawrence Radiology and N-FAB Phillip Nicoletti joined Justin Brayton and Grant making the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team a three rider platform for the first time in the team’s history during Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Brayton transferred to the main event from Heat One, Grant from Semi One, and a determined Nicoletti from the LCQ. In the main Brayton began the race in seventh with Grant 10th and Nicoletti 13th. During the early laps Brayton moved into sixth, Grant to ninth, and unfortunately Nicoletti fell victim to a crash that ended his night. As the laps wound down Brayton bettered his position to fifth, with Grant holding steady in ninth, which is how the teammates finished. It was solid top-10 for the returning Grant and Brayton’s fifth top-five finish and eighth top-10 result this season. There are only five riders in the 450SX Class who have been in the top-10 at each round, Justin Brayton is among those riders. Phillip Nicoletti will take a scheduled weekend off and rejoin Brayton and Grant at the Daytona event on March 8. Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., will host round nine of the series on March 1. Fox Sports One will air the race live starting at 7:30 p.m. (EST). Timed qualifying will stream live on supercrossonline.com beginning at 2:00 p.m. (EST). The third segment of the Supercross, Behind the Dream Series will air on March 2 on CBS at noon (EST).
