Detroit Race Report
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (March 20,2016) –Round 11 of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship was held at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. In spite of temperatures outside in the twenties 46,259 fans were on hand and for those at home Fox Sports Two broadcast all of the racing action live.
Weston Peick and Phil Nicoletti transferred to the Main Event from Semi Two. Peick was the race winner. Peick began the Main Event in 10th place with Nicoletti ninth. Peick rode a consistent race to claim seventh at the checkers, one position better than last Saturday and his best for the 2016 season so far. Nicoletti, who has been riding with an injured knee was in 11th place with two laps to go and went down causing him to finish 14th.
After the only weekend off during the 17-race series, Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. will host round 12 on April 2. Justin Barcia is expected to make his return to competition in Santa Clara. Fox Sports One will air the entire event live beginning at 10:00 p.m. (EST).
