HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (May 4, 2014) – The 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship concluded last night at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. As always the venue was sold out with 35,509 fans in attendance and Fox Sports One broadcast the entire event live.
Toyota, the official vehicle of Monster Energy AMA Supercross and the founding sponsor of the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team also supports many other action sports athletes. Bob Burnquist (skate), Jamie Bestwick (BMX vert), Drew Bezanson (BMX park), Simon Dumont (freestyle skier), and Elena Hight, (female snow boarder) are all Team Toyota. Both Hight and Bezanson were on hand in Las Vegas supporting their fellow Team Toyota athletes and having fun just watching the race.
Phillip Nicoletti, with support from N-FAB and St. Lawrence Radiology substituted for Justin Brayton who is recovering from injuries sustained at both St. Louis and Houston. The track was heavily watered prior to the first 450SX heat race making the surface very slick. Nicoletti was in a transfer position early in the heat and slid out in the mud. The crash was not bad but he was then struck by oncoming riders injuring his knee and ending his night. Josh Grant transferred to the main event from the second semi. In the main Grant began the race in the top-five settling into sixth on lap four. On lap 17 Grant had closed up on the fifth place rider who suddenly lost control and crashed right in front of Grant causing Grant to crash. Grant was still able to earn seventh for the night even with the fall. Despite missing two rounds due to injury Justin Brayton earned seventh in series points for 2014, with Grant claiming 16th.

Jgrmx.com, as well as the JGRMX FaceBook Fan Page will update the broadcast times when they are published. The official website of the series is promotocross.com. Brayton’s status for Glen Helen will be determined as the event nears. Nicoletti is expected to race Glen Helen, if Brayton is fully healed and on the gate then the team will have all three riders racing.
